Easy Guacamole

Updated: Jun 1, 2020

What makes Guacamole is BY FAR the healthiest and most delicious dip you can eat? While Guac is extremely versatile when it comes to when you can serve it (as an appetizer/snack or in the morning on toast for an amazing breakfast/brunch) and what events it can be served at (Cinco de Mayo, Super Bowl Parties, Pool Parties, Dinner Parties... the opportunities are endless), it's also amazing for your body!

While more and more people are looking to fat-free and reduced-fat options as ways to improve health; they forget that healthy fats like avocados, nuts and olive oil are ESSENTIAL for overall health. Healthy fats can reduce blood cholesterol, aid in hormone function, improve skin and memory, and even help you absorb important fat-soluble nutrients. My point? Eat GUAC, people!

The ingredients are classic and simple, so I only have one disclaimer: Cilantro. If you like it, by all means, chop it up fresh and throw it in. But, if you are like me and you think Cilantro tastes like soap, you may consider avoiding it for this recipe. It's totally up to you!

Ingredients: 2 Medium-Sized Plum Tomatoes, Diced

1 Medium Yellow Onion, Diced

6 Ripe Avocados

1 Tsp. Minced Fresh Garlic

Juice of 1 Fresh Squeezed Lime

(Optional: Chopped fresh Cilantro)

Directions:

1. Dice your tomatoes and onions, and mince your garlic.

2. Peel your ripened avocados and remove the seeds; watch my Easy Guacamole video for some technique suggestions! (Note: To ensure that the avocados are ripened, give them a little squeeze before cutting them. They should not be firm or hard- they should be quite easy to mash once the skins are removed).

3. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl +your lime, salt and cilantro (optional), and use a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients to your taste. If you like your guac chunky, go easy on the avocado when mixing.

4. Serve in a large bowl with chips or table water crackers!
