Blue Lemon Drop Martini

This gorgeous, zesty lemon-sugar rimmed Teal-Blue Lemon Drop Martini is about to be your go-to drink this summer! The color for these Martinis comes from the Blue Curaçao, which is an ingredient similar to Simple Syrup, but with an orange essence that pairs perfectly with fresh lemon juice.

Ingredients:

For 2 Martinis

3 oz. (3/8 cups) of Vodka (we use Tito's)

2 oz. (1/4 cup) of Fresh Lemon Juice

2/3 oz. of Blue Curaçao (find it near the Simple Syrup in your local liquor store)

1 oz. Triple Sec (1/8 cup)

Ice

For the Rim:

1/3 Cup Sugar

1 Tbsp. Lemon Zest

Directions:

  1. On a plate, combine the 1/3 cup of sugar with the 1 tbsp. of Lemon Zest. Use your (clean) fingers to rub the lemon zest together with the sugar. This will create a zesty lemon-sugar that we will use for the rim of our Martini glass.

  2. Gently rub the rim of each glass with lemon wedge, and then place wet rim into the sugar; this will allow the lemon sugar to stick to the rim. Swirl the glass around in the sugar until you have applied your desired amount of sugar.

  3. In a cocktail shaker, add Ice, the Vodka, Lemon Juice, Blue Curacao and Triple Sec.

  4. Shake it "like a polaroid picture". But really, shake the cocktail mixture for at least 30 seconds for the chillest Blue Lemon Drop possible!

  5. Pour into your lemon-sugar rimmed Martini glasses and cheers with your favorite person!
